Joe Quiter Index

Joe and Pat reside in Rochester, Minnesota, where they have lived since the forties (after the war.. he was in World War II).  They were married in July in 1938.. When we had our 1993 reunion in Minnesota, it coincided with their 55th wedding anniversary. Full name Joseph J. Quiter.. he was born in Albion, Nebraska on the farm on Sept. 17th 1913... Pat (O'Neill) was raised in Elmhurst.. she had the Patsy O'Neill school of Dancing. Their oldest son, John (where we had brunch at reunion in St. Paul) is an architect and now lives and works in LA.. and Jim, (B.J.'s age) lives in Walnut Creek, Calif. You met both of them.. along with their oldest daughter, Jane.. at the reunion. I think she's about fifty three or four.. four grown children.

B.J. brought this pic home that was taken in Dec 01.. Joe and Pat Quiter (now 88a and 86) had come to Minneapolis and B.J. joined them and Mary Ann Knight (whose home our dinner was at reunion in 1993).  Thought you might enjoy seeing it.  Mary Ann is your second cousin.. my first.  She's the younger sister of Jack Gallagher.. the surgeon  He's just two years younger than I but Mary Ann is 60.

Joe is the baby of my grandparents family.  He is 13 years younger than my father... who was born in 1900 (always could remember how old he was).. Aunt Mary 1901 (Mary Ann's mom.. in picture.. she's the youngest of that family.. 3 kids) then my Aunt Catherine 1908.. Tony 1910 and Joe 1913.  Both Joe and Tony were in high school when Dick and I lived on the farm in Albion with them. 1928-33.  I started first grade their and then moved back to Elmhurst to live with my father.. where he had stayed in the home where I was born.. and he and Grandma were married in 1935 Jan.
