Richard & Emilia's Trip to Florida
July 2004

Richard and Emilia came mid July from Seattle and spent first weekend at Patty, Steve and Cyrus's.. then down here to Venice on Sunday.   We went to the beach Monday morning.  The first pictures were taken in the channel off the "jetty" where lots of people were fishing so Richard and Emilia decided to swim there..  Emilia was fascinated with all the pelicans, fish etc..  She is not at all shy and very knowledgably about the birds etc.  The picture with Cyrus was taken here..

Patty and Cyrus' came down mid week and we took a picnic and went to Nokomis Beach.. about ten minutes away.. and had a delightful time.  The kids swam and played and we were able to have a good visit.  On Tuesday, we went on a boat from the aquarium with a biologist who did something similar to what Helen arranged on Key Biscayne.. lots of little fishes etc. that were put in a tank and then identified and "passed around".. also saw lots of dolphin and a few Manatee.  We did the Aquarium a separate day.

Last pictures were at Patty's on the Saturday before they left and we took them up there and spent part of the day.

We had a wonderful time at the Beach, pool, picnicking.. even went to Myakka State Park (not me) canoeing  and watching the alligators splash around.  Emilia is a "real trooper", loves to be outside.. and enjoys and identifies wildlife unbelievable well.  Richard really took great care of her.. we had "tea parties" with Granddaddy and Daddy and Grandma and Emilia with "make believe" names daily.. We really hated to see them leave.. a super visit.
